Plans, modules, and billing

Updated August 6, 2026 · 5 min

Every price you see in the product is the whole price — hosting, SSL, and the CMS are already included, never billed as an add-on.
  1. See your plans, credits, and history

Your billing page shows your AI credit balance at the top, with a "Buy 100 credits — $5" button beside it for a one-time top-up. Below that, a Subscriptions section lists every site you're paying for — its plan, its all-inclusive monthly total, and its modules — and a Recent credit activity table logs every credit you've earned or spent, with the running balance after each one. A "Manage billing in Stripe" link at the top opens Stripe's own billing portal for deeper account and payment details.

  2. Choose a plan

From a site's dashboard, publishing or changing plans takes you to its upgrade page, with three builder plans: Publish at $19.99/mo (your free theDavid subdomain), Starter at $29.99/mo (adds your own custom domain and the full CMS admin), and Pro at $49.99/mo (more AI credits and a priority generation queue). A Monthly/Annual toggle switches billing frequency — paying yearly gets you two months free.

  3. Add the modules your business needs

Below the plan picker, five optional modules stack onto any plan: Online Store (+$34.99/mo), Restaurant (+$19.99/mo), Bookings & Events (+$24.99/mo), Memberships (+$29.99/mo), and CRM & Donations (+$19.99/mo). Whatever your site is already using comes pre-checked. Unchecking one your site actually uses asks you to confirm first, since removing it turns the feature off in your CMS and deletes the sections that depend on it.

    Watch out

Removing a module your site uses deletes the sections built on it when your payment goes through — that content doesn’t come back just by adding the module again later.
  4. See your total before you pay

A running order summary lists your plan as one all-inclusive line — "CMS & hosting included" — followed by a line for each module you've added, and a Total at the bottom. There's never a separate "plus CMS" charge hiding in the fine print; the number you see is the number you're billed.

  5. Checkout, upgrades, and downgrades

A new site continues to a secure Stripe checkout embedded right on the page — click "Continue to secure checkout — Stripe," enter payment details, and subscribe. If you already have a subscription on this site, there's no second checkout: upgrading takes effect immediately, with Stripe crediting the unused part of your current plan before charging the difference for today, and the button reads "Confirm upgrade." A downgrade instead reads "Schedule this change" — it takes effect at your next renewal, you keep everything you're currently paying for until then, and you're not charged anything today.

  6. Top up credits, and the money-back guarantee

If you run out of AI credits before your plan's next renewal, buy more any time from your billing page — a $5 pack adds 100 credits right away. Every plan also carries a 7-day money-back guarantee, and you can cancel anytime from your billing page with no lock-in.

Frequently asked

Can I change my modules later?

Yes — return to your site's upgrade page any time to add or remove modules. Adding one takes effect immediately; removing one you're using asks you to confirm first, since it deletes the sections built on it.

Does a downgrade take effect right away?

No — a downgrade is scheduled for your next renewal date instead. You keep every feature you're currently paying for until then, and you're not charged anything today.
