Manage your pages

Updated August 6, 2026 · 5 min

Beyond the quick editor, theDavid admin is where pages actually live — create new ones, restructure existing ones, and control exactly what shows up in search results.
  1. Create a new page

From the Pages screen, click "Add New Page." Give it a title and, optionally, a subtitle, then write the page's main content in the rich text editor beneath them — this is the same editor used across theDavid admin, with standard text formatting.

  2. Build the page out of sections

Under "Sections," click "Add Section" to open a gallery of section types — Hero, Feature Grid, Testimonials, FAQ, Gallery, Contact Form, and more, each with a short description of what it does. Pick one to add it to the page, then drag it by its handle to reorder, or click "Edit" on any section to expand it and change its content. A trash icon removes a section you no longer want.

  3. Fill in SEO settings

The collapsible "SEO Settings" card holds the page's URL slug, a Meta Title and Meta Description for search results, a Canonical URL, an Open Graph image for social sharing, and a "No Index" checkbox for pages you don't want search engines to list. None of it is required — Messiah fills in sensible defaults when your site is first generated.

    Note

A page’s slug can be changed here at any time, but changing it after the page has been shared or indexed will break existing links to it.
  4. Set a parent page, featured image, and template

The sidebar lets you nest a page under a parent (for a dropdown menu structure), pick a featured image used as its thumbnail and social preview, and choose a template along with a sort order that controls where it falls in navigation lists relative to other pages.

  5. Publish, save as a draft, or archive

The Status field in the sidebar switches between Draft, Published, and Archived, and the button beneath it reads "Create Page" for a new page or "Update Page" once it exists. Back on the Pages list, the same three statuses appear as filter tabs alongside a search box, so you can find any page quickly as your site grows.
